The amazing story of a young homeless skateboarder: Thalente Biyela

Skateboarding has always been a great equalizer. All you need is a skateboard and you can go out anywhere and have fun. You don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars a year to join a league or for some exclusive membership. Your talent level is solely based on the time and effort you put into it.  Skateboarding brings together people of all ethnicities, family dynamics and income levels.

Thalente Biyela came from a broken home in Durba, South Africa and has been homeless since the age of 11. His style and talent on a skateboard is obvious and now with a little bit of help, he is in LA trying to make it as a professional skateboarder. Thalente has this Seed&Spark campaign and is trying to raise money to create a better life for himself!
